How to Register on TCS NextStep – A Step-by-Step Guide

 Introduction

TCS NextStep is the platform where students and graduates can register for various opportunities such as internships, off-campus drives, and coding contests like TCS CodeVita. If you're a student looking to kickstart your career with TCS, registering on this platform is your first step. In this blog, I’ll walk you through the process of signing up and getting started.


Step 1 – Visit the TCS NextStep Website





Step2 - It may ask for either:

  1. IT (Institute Type) – like college/university category.

  2. BSP (Board / Specialization / Program) – depending on how it’s structured 

 


Step 3 – Email Verification 

What to do on this page:

  1. Enter your email address

    • Make sure it’s active and one you check regularly.

    • Avoid using temporary or rarely accessed emails.

  2. Click on “Send OTP” or similar.

  3. Check your inbox

    • You’ll receive an email from TCS with the OTP.

    • If you don’t see it, check the spam/junk folder.

  4. Enter the OTP

    • Type the code exactly as received.

    • OTPs are time-sensitive, so enter it promptly.

  5. Submit

    • Once you enter the OTP, click on Verify or Submit.

    • This will confirm your email address and move you to the next step.

 



Step 3 – Other Verification (Aadhaar)

  • Enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar card.

  • Enter your date of birth, first name, and middle name as per Aadhaar.

  • Click Continue to proceed.



Step 4 – Personal Details

  • Select Title → Mr., Ms., Dr.

  • Fill in your First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name as per official documents.

  • Confirm the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar already entered are correct.

  • Click Register.




Step 5 – Education Details

  • Confirm or enter:

    • Institute Name

    • Qualification → Bachelor of Engineering

    • Year of Passing → 2026

  • Enter the captcha shown on the screen.

  • Click Register.




Final Confirmation

  • Review all details – name, email, phone number, institute, course, and passing year.

  • Click Yes, Confirm to submit the form.



Login Steps with Email & Captcha (After Registration)

  1. Go to https://nextstep.tcsapps.com/.

  2. On the login page, you’ll see the following fields:

    • Email ID → Enter the email address you used during registration (for example, your.email@example.com).

    • Password → Enter the password you created while registering.

    • Captcha → A set of letters or numbers will be shown as an image.
      → Carefully type the characters exactly as shown. It is case-sensitive.

  3. Click Login.

  4. After logging in, you can access your profile, apply for contests like TCS CodeVita, view notifications, and track your application status.



After Login – Check Your ID

Once you log in successfully:

  1. You’ll see your profile dashboard.

  2. Your CT/DT Reference ID or candidate ID will be displayed on the screen.

  3. You can also check your registered email inbox — TCS will send an email with your Reference ID.

This ID is important for tracking your applications, participating in contests like TCS CodeVita, and receiving updates.
